We are constantly amazed at how love stories start.

“I still remember the first time I saw him wearing a long leather jacket and dark glasses and thinking to myself, this guy takes The Matrix way too seriously.” That’s Kirsty’s first recollection of meeting her soul mate Tristan.

However unlikely it seemed at the time It turns out the pair had so much in common they married in a highly personalised, outdoor wedding inspired by adventure and nature.

Surrounded by picture-perfect scenery, Kirsty and Tristan exchanged handwritten vows at Victoria’s Cave Hill Creek, a location they both attended as kids as a school campsite.

Established in 1988, Cave Hill Creek is now run by second generation owners Tim and Ange Chandler. The location offers a gorgeous setting for the ceremony, location photos and reception. The venue can accommodate up to 140 guests for a seated meal or 250  for a cocktail style function. For  guests that travel, comfortable accommodation is available for up to 140 guests. Not forgetting the wedding night accommodation for the new bride and groom, the venue includes a unique Glamping bridal suite resplendent with king size bed, ensuite and of course, fantastic reviews.

Not happy to just dive in to a standard first dance, the couple broke ranks and performed a Game of Throne’esque sword fight, to the delight of their guests.

The bride wore Essense of Australia from Fairytales Bridal Boutique, a lace fit-and-flare silhouette complete with mocha waist sash.

During the ceremony, Kirsty and Tristan followed an historic Australian tradition of throwing stones into the water to represent their commitment to each other throughout life’s ebbs and flows.

As a wonderful gift, their guests were given a recipe book with recipes from both families.
